August 13, 2012 ELSA Education Award Programme 2013
Law student Piero Tomassoni has been appointed “ELSA Award Intern” by the ELSA Education Award Programme panel, chaired by Prof. Narayan Naik of the London Business School.
The 23 year old Italian student, who has worked at Withers Worldwide, as well as other international law practices, presented an essay on risks in the various investment structures for life insurance policies and life insurance linked securities.
The judging panel, which included Michael Fugler of Welcome Life, Anna M. Bailey, Michael Fasano of Fasano Associates, Beat Hess of AA-Partners, Chris Wells of Life Equity, Dr Jochen Russ of IFA, Panos Kostakos of the Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs, decided not to award the prize for 2012 but to double the award for 2013.
Prof. Naik said: “Life settlements are a new asset class and relatively unknown to most final year MBA, finance, insurance and law graduates. The judging panel regarded Piero Tomassoni's entry as the most promising and worth of high-profile tutoring. He is being offered an internship training programme to be supervised by Anna M. Bailey, ELSA Ambassador and Summit Planning Committee Chair.”
ELSA had invited over a hundred of European business and law schools. Next year the Award will be also extended to North America.
