"Daniel has an extensive background in the capital markets and life settlement industry. His broad knowledge of the life settlement asset class, analytical skills, and experience in building, analyzing and managing financial products, are well-documented throughout his career.
Before joining Maple Life Financial, Daniel was the owner, President and CEO of Life Analytics, an independent life settlement consulting firm, with clients all over the world. Prior to that, Daniel was the Director of Finance, for three years, at Legacy Benefits, in charge of investor relations, portfolio management, pricing and closing. Before entering the Life Settlement space, Daniel worked seven years with Prudential Financial in the areas of corporate workouts, international corporate M&A and securities lending.
Mr. Beckmann was born and raised in Germany, studied business at the Universität Köln, has lived in the US since 1995 and graduated from the University of South Carolina summa cum laude with a B.S. in Finance."

"Michael is President and CEO of Fasano Associates, a leading underwriting consulting firm providing life expectancy estimates to the life, annuity and life settlement industries. Fasano’s life expectancies are the most accurate in the business, with an actual to expected ratio of 96%, based on actual – not adjusted - estimates. His physician staff includes former chief and senior medical directors of New York Life, First Colony Life (Genworth), John Hancock Life and Munich Re.
Before starting Fasano Associates, Michael served as President of Trans-General Life Insurance Company; and before that, he worked at the White House Office of Management and Budget.
Michael received his B.A. from Northwestern University and his M.A. from the University of Wisconsin, Madison. He currently serves on the Board of Visitors for Northwestern University’s College of Arts & Sciences and as Co-Chair of Northwestern’s Washington, DC Regional Council. He also serves as an officer of the Life Insurance Settlement Association (LISA) and is a member of the Institutional Life Markets Association (ILMA), BVZL and the Life Settlement Institute, as well as ELSA. He is a frequent industry speaker and has published articles in Best’s Review, Pensions and Investments, and the National Underwriter."
Jim Maxson

James W. Maxson is a partner in the firm’s Insurance and Reinsurance group. Mr. Maxson’s areas of expertise include insurance-linked securities, life settlements, mergers and acquisitions, securities and regulatory issues.
Mr. Maxson worked for four years as the Executive Vice President, General Counsel and Acting Chief Operating Officer of a leading life settlement provider company where he was responsible for all compliance and legal matters, including interpretation of legislative and regulatory requirements and compliance with securities law. Mr. Maxson was previously a senior associate at a large international law firm where he practiced in the areas of securities and mergers and acquisitions. He also clerked for the Honorable Alice M. Batchelder on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit.
Mr. Maxson is a frequent presenter on topics related to the life settlement industry, and he was recently elected to a two-year term as Director of the Life Insurance Settlement Association (“LISA”), the oldest and largest association representing the life settlement industry. Mr. Maxson chairs LISA’s Education Committee and is a member of LISA’s External Affairs and Legal Committees.
Mr. Maxson is Co-Chair of the firm’s Insurance-Linked Securities group, and his practice focuses on all aspects of the life settlements industry. He has performed extensive work in the areas of licensing, regulatory compliance, fund structuring and portfolio acquisitions.

"Patrick focuses on the management and analysis of existing Life Settlement funds along with researching and developing new fund opportunities. Patrick played an important role in the launch of the first London-listed vehicle to invest solely in US life settlements and has overseen the substantial growth in SL Investment Management’s US activities. His background includes a post as Research Associate within Bank of America’s global corporate & investment banking unit, working with senior analysts on M&A and industry research, and working for an internet start-up focusing on derivatives investment advice for high-net-worth individuals and their advisers. He joined SL Investment Management in 2002. Patrick obtained an honours degree in Finance and a minor in Computer Science from a US university in 1998. In 2001, he was awarded the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation, the premier international qualification for investment management and analysis."
